Metallogenetic Characteristics of the Gold Deposits in the Katagreenstone Belts of China

Abstract

The gold deposits in the katagreenstone belts of China are widely distributed in the North China Platform,especially in the middle-west margin of the North China Platform. In terms of the sources of the ore-forming material and metallogenic tectonic setting, with the consideration from combination of metallogeny and crustal evolution, those deposits, related to katagreenstone belts, may be divided into the later-sytectonic primary gold deposits and post-tectonic regenerated hydrothermal gold deposits, the latter are more distributed and possessed more prospecting potential. The greenstone, structures and granitoid rocks are control factores to the gold metallogenises of the katagreenstone belts. The mineralization often are multiple periods from Neoarchean-Paleoproterozoic to Hercynian,Yanshanian. In consequence of the development of the multiple mineralized  tectonic-magmaticactivities in East China, so that the two types of gold deposits can distributed in the different tectonic part of the gold metallogenic focus-area.
